Vistex Hospital (Masarhi, Patna District, Bihar state) has a catchment population of 400,000. It is one of the 40 health facilities prioritized by the Indian government for urgent improvement and has been managed by Doctors for You since 2015. Vistex Hospital is an important asset, located in the Fatuha Block (sub-district) of Patna District where there are no other functional health facilities for a 15km radius, about 2.5 hours away from the city’s referral hospitals. Some 300 people visit Vistex Hospital every day from 50 villages, mostly from the Mahadalit Community. The hospital also cares for about 30 inpatients at a time. As the hospital was only built 2.5 years ago, Vistex has good existing infrastructure and some of the facilities are new and modern, including the emergency department and diagnostic infrastructure. It is well-established and recognized by the local Health Department government officials and by the community for the critical role it played during the Covid-19 pandemic. Vistex also has a long-term commitment to further upgrading its services in order to continue providing quality services to its catchment population.
